Affiliate Disclosure
This page explains, in plain terms, how Joe Fortune AU Review makes money and why that never changes what we write. Transparency is the whole point: if you can't trust our reviews, the site has no value. For the full picture of how commercial and editorial work stay separate, read this alongside our Editorial Policy.
How we make money
Joe Fortune AU Review is free for readers — you never pay to read our reviews, ratings or guides. We earn through affiliate relationships with online casinos. Here's how that works: our links to casinos carry a unique identifier that lets the operator see a visitor came from us. If you click such a link and register or deposit, we may receive a commission from the operator. There are two common models — CPA (a fixed amount per new registered player) and revenue share (a percentage of the casino's net revenue from that player); we may use either. For you, the click is completely free — your bonuses, wagering and withdrawal terms are exactly the same as registering directly. This income covers hosting, real-money testing deposits, and the time it takes to write and update reviews.
Does this affect our reviews?
No. Whether or not we have an affiliate deal with a casino has no bearing on its review, rating or recommendation. We follow strict editorial independence — see our Editorial Policy. The commercial side and the editorial side work separately, and an editor is never told to lift a score for revenue. We publish reviews of casinos we have no affiliate deal with when they're worth covering, and we'll give a low score or a negative verdict to a partner casino if it falls short. Our ratings come from an objective, weighted method applied identically to every casino — see How We Rate — and every review is built on real testing (How We Test), not on a commercial relationship. We believe long-term reader trust is worth far more than a short-term commission: recommend bad casinos and you stop trusting us, and the business is finished.
How to spot an affiliate link
Affiliate links on our site usually appear as buttons like "Visit", "Get Bonus" or "Play" and may route through a tracking URL such as /go before reaching the casino — that's normal for tracking referrals. If a link contains parameters like ?btag=, ?clickid= or ?affid=, it's an affiliate link. You can always reach a casino directly without using our links — we never limit your choice.
Our commitment to readers
- We always name the author and show the publish/update date on every review.
- We use one rating method for all casinos, regardless of affiliate status.
- We update reviews when a casino's terms change.
- We point out a casino's flaws even when it costs us revenue.
- We clearly separate any advertising from editorial content.
