Joe Fortune AU Review is an independent review site built for Australian players who want straight answers about offshore online casinos. Our mission
The offshore casino market that serves Australians grows every year, and so does the number of operators happy to bury unfair terms in the fine print. For an ordinary player it is genuinely hard to tell a reliable casino from a dud. We started Joe Fortune AU Review to make that decision easier and safer. We test casinos ourselves, read the full terms, and write reviews that are useful rather than promotional. Since 2021 we have tested more than 180 casinos, compared thousands of bonus offers and tracked dozens of payment methods. Our goal is simple: save you hours of research and help protect your money. And we are upfront about something the marketing pages hide — casinos serving Australia run on offshore licences (typically Curaçao), not approval from the Australian regulator, so we judge them on payout reliability and player protection, not a badge.
Our story
Joe Fortune AU Review began in 2021, when Mason Whitlock got tired of casino "reviews" that were clearly rewritten press releases by people who had never deposited a cent. What started as a handful of carefully tested reviews grew into a full resource with its own testing process and rating system. Today we are one of the more thorough independent review sites covering the Australian-facing market, helping thousands of readers each month choose a casino they can trust to actually pay. In our second year we built the structured rating system we still use, scoring each casino across eight weighted criteria from security to withdrawal speed — the detail is on How We Rate.
Our team
Our lead reviewer is Mason Whitlock, an Online Casino Reviewer with more than nine years in the iGaming industry. His focus areas are licensing, bonus terms, payment systems and responsible gambling. Alongside Mason, our editorial process draws on specialist freelancers for particular topics — payments, mobile play and live dealer — but every published review is tested and signed by a named author. We never publish anonymous reviews.
Our values
Honesty. We don't hide a casino's flaws to protect a commission. If a casino scores poorly, we publish that review. If a bonus has rough wagering, we say so plainly. Transparency. How we work
Every review follows the same path. Research — we check the licence, owner and complaint history. Testing — we create a real account, deposit real money, play, claim the bonus and request a withdrawal; full detail in How We Test. Rating — we apply our eight-criterion system (How We Rate). Writing — the same person who tested writes the review. Fact-checking — an editor verifies the licence, bonus terms and providers against the casino's own site. Publishing and updating — we publish with a date and revisit every 3–6 months, or sooner if something material changes.
